CP Plus RTSP and ONVIF: check the product series first

The short answer

CP Plus protocol support varies by product series. A specification listing RTSP or ONVIF on one recorder does not establish those features on every consumer camera. Identify the exact camera or recorder, then verify its own network-service, stream and account instructions before adding it to Windows.

What to know for this brand

  • The Orange-series recorder manual exposes a configurable RTSP port and an RTSP-over-TLS option with certificate selection.

  • CP-UVR-0801E1V-I lists RTSP and ONVIF Profiles T, S and G in its recorder specification.

  • This recorder supports multiple compression and channel configurations, so stream selection must match the recorder's actual channel and encoder setup.

Connection route

This brand includes different product families and connection methods. Identify the exact line before choosing RTSP, ONVIF, a controller export or the vendor app. Do not transfer a URL pattern, account rule or cloud limitation from one family to every product sold under the same name.

ONVIF check

Support depends on the model, firmware and enabled service; video access alone does not prove discovery or controls.

Model-scoped stream examples

No universal direct RTSP template is provided. Obtain a supported endpoint from the exact device, controller or documented API instead of guessing an address.

Use a private, reachable network for the first test. A working vendor cloud view does not prove that a separate computer can reach a local camera service.

Source titles retain the original document language. Check the current manual for your product; firmware, accounts and service availability can change.

Work through the checks

  1. Record the full model number, firmware and whether the source is a camera, DVR or NVR channel. Keep the relevant product manual with the connection record.

  2. Check that model’s protocol list for RTSP and the required ONVIF features. Do not treat support for a branded cloud app as evidence of an open local protocol.

  3. Use the documented network menu to inspect services and ports. The cited Orange-series recorder manual shows RTSP port 554, but the installed configuration may differ.

  4. Create or enable the account required by the model’s ONVIF interface if using discovery. Test that account separately from a manual RTSP connection.

  5. Obtain the channel and stream path from the correct product-family documentation or ONVIF media information. Do not guess a universal path for all CP Plus products.

What to verify

Verify one decoded channel and reconnect on the local network. Record unavailable protocols explicitly; a general ONVIF logo or an open port is not a hardware playback test.

AeoCam is available for Windows. Camera settings below describe protocol preparation, not a certification of a particular camera or a promise of every feature in every app version. Check the installed build and the Microsoft Store listing for current availability.

Vendor documents describe the camera or protocol. No physical-camera compatibility test is claimed here. Menus and capabilities can change with model and firmware.
