Viewing and recording

Choose and verify a local recording folder

The short answer

Verify the actual volume and write access, especially with removable disks. A folder visible in the interface may no longer point to an available destination.

Work through the checks

  1. Check the actual recording volume, available space and write permission. Confirm the folder belongs to the intended disk rather than an unavailable USB drive or a redirected system folder.

  2. Check the app’s access to the selected folder and the current Windows user account. Test a short file write through the supported app workflow before changing system-wide permissions.

  3. If recording is available in the installed build, capture a short authorized test event. Confirm a new local file is created, grows as expected and can be reopened after recording stops.

  4. Change one setting, then repeat the same short test after a controlled app or device restart. Record the error time and whether the problem recurs rather than treating a temporary recovery as a diagnosis.

What to verify

Reopen a completed test clip and seek to a known event time if the player permits seeking. Confirm moving images, duration and camera identity; a thumbnail or event row alone is insufficient.

AeoCam is available for Windows. Camera settings below describe protocol preparation, not a certification of a particular camera or a promise of every feature in every app version. Check the installed build and the Microsoft Store listing for current availability.

Vendor documents describe the camera or protocol. No physical-camera compatibility test is claimed here. Menus and capabilities can change with model and firmware.
