RTSP 403 Forbidden: inspect access permissions

The short answer

A 403 indicates the request was refused, not necessarily that the password is mistyped. Check account privileges and device access policies for that stream.

Work through the checks

  1. Use the camera’s local protocol account. A cloud app email address is not necessarily a valid RTSP or ONVIF login. Grant only the viewing or control permissions actually needed.

  2. Copy the RTSP path from the documentation for the exact product family. Keep the address, service port, channel and main/substream selector as separate values during diagnosis.

  3. Match the requested channel or lens to the manufacturer’s numbering. A valid stream from the wrong channel can look like success while showing another camera.

  4. Check the model manual for an ONVIF service switch and any separate ONVIF account. Use the configured service port; do not assume it equals the RTSP port.

What to verify

When the issue remains, send support the app version, camera model, firmware, error time and a redacted connection format. Include what changed between a successful and failed test.

Sources and scope

AeoCam is available for Windows. Camera settings below describe protocol preparation, not a certification of a particular camera or a promise of every feature in every app version. Check the installed build and the Microsoft Store listing for current availability.

Vendor documents describe the camera or protocol. No physical-camera compatibility test is claimed here. Menus and capabilities can change with model and firmware.
