Screen off is not the same as computer sleep

The short answer

Turning off a screen need not stop processing, but computer sleep can interrupt local viewing and recording. Test the power state actually used overnight.

Work through the checks

  1. Test one camera and one stream before opening a larger camera wall. Keep the camera settings unchanged while you establish whether the first live image is stable.

  2. If recording is available in the installed build, capture a short authorized test event. Confirm a new local file is created, grows as expected and can be reopened after recording stops.

  3. Distinguish screen-off from computer sleep. A computer that sleeps may stop local processing even while the camera stays powered; test the intended power state and reconnect behavior.

  4. Change one setting, then repeat the same short test after a controlled app or device restart. Record the error time and whether the problem recurs rather than treating a temporary recovery as a diagnosis.

What to verify

Reopen a completed test clip and seek to a known event time if the player permits seeking. Confirm moving images, duration and camera identity; a thumbnail or event row alone is insufficient.

AeoCam is available for Windows. Camera settings below describe protocol preparation, not a certification of a particular camera or a promise of every feature in every app version. Check the installed build and the Microsoft Store listing for current availability.

Vendor documents describe the camera or protocol. No physical-camera compatibility test is claimed here. Menus and capabilities can change with model and firmware.
