Check camera recovery after a Windows restart

The short answer

A restart test should confirm the saved address, authentication and moving image again. Do not assume unattended startup behavior unless the installed app documents it.

Work through the checks

  1. Use a DHCP reservation in the router when available. Verify the camera reconnects at the reserved address after a controlled restart before updating saved connection entries.

  2. Use the camera’s local protocol account. A cloud app email address is not necessarily a valid RTSP or ONVIF login. Grant only the viewing or control permissions actually needed.

  3. Change one setting, then repeat the same short test after a controlled app or device restart. Record the error time and whether the problem recurs rather than treating a temporary recovery as a diagnosis.

  4. Test one camera and one stream before opening a larger camera wall. Keep the camera settings unchanged while you establish whether the first live image is stable.

What to verify

If recording is available in the installed build, capture a short authorized test event. Confirm a new local file is created, grows as expected and can be reopened after recording stops.

Sources and scope

AeoCam is available for Windows. Camera settings below describe protocol preparation, not a certification of a particular camera or a promise of every feature in every app version. Check the installed build and the Microsoft Store listing for current availability.

Vendor documents describe the camera or protocol. No physical-camera compatibility test is claimed here. Menus and capabilities can change with model and firmware.
