The short answer
Add the bitrates of streams actually opened by all clients. Motion peaks, duplicate sessions and wireless contention can matter more than nominal internet speed.
Work through the checks
Close duplicate viewers and unused recorder previews during a controlled test. Some cameras limit simultaneous sessions; add each client back separately to find the constraint.
Use ONVIF-reported media profiles where available, and record the selected profile token. Profiles can differ in resolution, codec, audio and PTZ associations.
Lower one camera parameter at a time: frame rate, resolution or bitrate. Re-test motion and readable detail; a lower idle bitrate alone does not prove a usable moving image.
Compare with a wired connection where practical, keeping the stream profile unchanged. This separates Wi-Fi signal or contention problems from camera encoding and viewer behavior.
What to verify
Observe CPU, GPU, memory and network use in Windows Task Manager with one view, then add views gradually. Record the point where playback begins to lag.
